My practice of law spans over thirty (30) years, which means that I should have accumulated some relevant life experience along the way. I am a graduate of Southwestern University Law School in Los Angeles, CA, where as a student, I gained a National Moot Court Award in oral argument and writing a Brief on a fictional case. At first, I worked for a firm called Herzfeld & Rubin; while there, I defended Doctors in medical malpractice cases and defended VW & Porsche in products liability cases. One of my best memories was a case of failed tie-rod on a Volkswagon bug that caused the driver to have a collision that resulted in his paralysis. Problem was there was someone else in the car at the time whom we (on behalf of Volkswagon of America) could not find. Anyway, she was finally located on a beach volleyball team, and she fessed up to some sexual shinagins going on in that Bug at the time of the accident. You can figure out the rest. On the medical malpractice cases, I recall the letter we received from a patient of one of our insured ENT Doctors who said her one eye pointed outward after he had removed polups from her nose. I set out to see if that case could be settled at the lowest price possible, especially, after my Doctor said, "These things can happen." After three years on the defense, I set out on my own on the Plaintiff side, primarily representing patients in medical malpractice cases. Of course, as a solo practioner, you get all sorts of cases and experiences. My background as a nurse (Master's in Nursing from University of Minnesota), and a Veteran where I served 1970-'71 in Vietnam as an Army nurse at the 71st Evac. Hospital in Pleiku, and as a lesbian in a same-sex relationship for all the years I've been in practice and now married nearly five (5) years gear me to serve these special groups in my practice. See the picture of myself on the left and my spouse, Veronica St. Claire, on our wedding day! On a personal note, we have two Chow Chow dogs named Razzle Dazzle (called Razz) and Zara (or Zara Elizabeth as Veronica calls her). We love to travel and cook and eat good food.
